Actually, if you have a JavaScript blocker running, then it won't even get to the point where it tries to access sessionStorage, which's what is causing the error.   So no, that can't be the problem.

As the link you included says, it's likely due to the browser's security settings.  If you're trying to play it in a private window, then try paying it in a normal window, which has less strict security settings.  If that doesn't help, then it's likely something in your browser's security settings which needs to be changed, probably under the "cookies" settings (even though sessionStorage and cookies aren't quite the same thing).  Alternately, try using a different browser.

"When it comes to games, I know platformers. So I guess that's what I'm doing!"

Heh... Now I kind of want to see a text-based platformer:

You see ahead of you a gap and then another platform part-way across, and elevated above, that gap.  Above that platform is yet another platform, but this one has a guard walking back and forth across it.

"Jeez, I wonder if that guy has to do all of this ridiculous jumping to get up there for work every day," you think to yourself.

Do you:

- Run and jump at the edge of the gap up to the next platform.

- Run and jump from a bit further back, trying to double-jump up to the next platform.

- Walk up to the edge and cautiously look down to see if you see any easier-to-get-to platforms below.

(Just kidding, by the way.  I know Twine lets you do more than just text, this was just what popped into my head when you mentioned making a platformer for this.)
